Sports injury podiatry in Battersea

Whether you run, train or play, foot and lower-limb injuries can be frustrating. We assess what is going on and help you recover and get back to doing what you love.

Sports injuries we see

We help active people across South West London with lower-limb problems including Achilles tendinitis, patellofemoral (front of knee) pain, sprains and strains, and overuse injuries that build up with training. Many sports injuries of the foot and lower limb relate to load, footwear and biomechanics, which is where podiatry can make a real difference.

How we help

A podiatrist will assess the injured area, ask about your training, footwear and symptoms, and look at how you move. From there we will explain the likely cause and agree a plan, which may include advice on activity and load, footwear guidance, stretching and strengthening, and biomechanical support such as orthoses where appropriate. Our background in biomechanics and sports injuries means we look at why the injury happened, so we can help reduce the chance of it returning. Where care from another professional would help, such as physiotherapy, we will say so.

When to see a podiatrist

Book if pain is stopping or limiting your training, if a niggle keeps returning, or if an injury is not settling with rest. Early assessment often makes recovery more straightforward.

Common questions

Sports injury FAQs

Can I keep training with an injury?

It depends on the injury. We will advise on safe activity levels as part of your plan rather than giving blanket advice.

Do you treat runners specifically?

Yes. Running-related foot and lower-limb injuries are a common reason people see us, and biomechanics is often relevant.

Will I need orthotics?

Sometimes, but not always. We recommend them only where they are likely to help.

Do you work with physiotherapists?

Where another professional's input would help your recovery, we will recommend it.
